About HSK

Hira Shahid Kazim was born in Karachi, in a culturally conservative Rajput family, where everything was strictly disciplined. Though her love for arts was well grown at the age of ten, she could not pursue Arts as her major for studies due to family obstinance. She graduated in Medical Physiology from University of Karachi in 2010.She remains a great enthusiast of Art, in all its forms, despite the restrictions and her educational background.

Art, solitude and silence are her ways of expression from early ages. Now she has started practicing art as a profession, since year 2015. She paints in oil on canvas to embody the inspirations striking her mind. Her work is based on wide study backgrounds, connecting ideas of impulse and awakening for observers.

The Artist, is also an educationist of biological sciences. She teaches 14-18 year olds in pursuance of mentoring them and building love and enthusiasm in them for Science and Arts, similar to her own. She is also on the verge of completing her Post-Graduate Degree from Dow University of Health Sciences, which will be followed by a Ph.D in future.

Hira is hundred percent a self-taught artist; however, she desires to gain academic knowledge of Fine Arts especially Oil Paintings, after completion of her Post-graduate Degree. At the present she is working on her debut solo exhibition, going to be held in the end of 2018.

She lives and works in Karachi.
